As with many of our treasures, this piece was acquired straight from the criée berbère — the traditional carpet auction in the heart of Marrakech, where Berber men gather each day after prayer to present the woven works of their wives, sisters, and mothers. We bid directly, on the spot, skipping all middlemen and ensuring both authenticity and fair trade.
