SOUK in the CITY - as a brand - may be less than 3 years old, but our love for Moroccan craftsmanship has been thriving for more than 7 professional years and over 2 decades personally as a Berber rug enthusiast.
My sourcing journey started for @escapestore.be, my Belgian-based concept store featuring handmade decor & gifts from around the globe, guided by the mantra ‘I’ve got a Crush on the World.’
For 3 years, I seamlessly blended retail ànd wholesale, turning my shop into the ultimate test environment for new SitC collections, assessing customer reactions, evolving continuously based on your priceless feedback.
I’ve recently realized that my true passion lies in Morocco and the wholesale aspect —travelling, connecting, and sharing Moroccan treasures with the world. 🌍 It’s where I feel the most challenged and inspired. Combining this with a full-time brick store was no longer sustainable, so I’ve made the heartfelt decision to focus fully on SOUK in the CITY and close ESCAPE as a multibrand store.
Customers who love exploring the texture of our rugs, berber baskets, (floor) cushions etc and seeing our collections in person will still be able to visit our vibrant SOUK in the CITY showroom for a whimsical shopping trip, however, on appointment only!
