Meet Soft Loft, a lush and sculptural Mrirt rug sourced as part of a matching duo directly at the criée berbère in the heart of Marrakech. This piece stands out with its padded, cloud-like diamond structure — a modern interpretation of classic Amazigh motifs, translated into an irresistibly soft, high-pile texture.

The surface is built from rounded “pillows” of creamy, natural wool, separated by subtle charcoal lines that add depth and structure without overpowering the gentle tone. The back reveals the unmistakable finesse of the Mrirt weave: a tight, graphic pattern in black and natural wool, proof of the exceptional craftsmanship behind each knot.

A luxurious accent for bedrooms, reading corners, nurseries, or layered living spaces — wherever softness and warmth are welcome.

Craftsmanship & Sourcing

This rug was hand-knotted by Mrirt weavers in the Middle Atlas, known for producing the softest, densest wool pile in Morocco.
Joëlle selected this rug personally at the criée berbère, the daily auction where local merchants and collectors compete for the most exceptional pieces. Buying directly at the criée allows for:

Care Instructions

• Vacuum gently (low suction, no rotating brush) to preserve the pile
• Spot-clean with lukewarm water and natural soap
• For deep cleaning: wash traditionally with cold water and savon noir, then let dry fully in sunlight
• Rotate occasionally to maintain an even patina
• Mrirt rugs are naturally durable and become softer over time
