Woven in a palette of terracotta, sandstone, rust, camel, olive green, forest green, charcoal, black, and soft cream, the rug feels like a woven desert horizon at dusk.

Totemic motifs, protective symbols, abstract figures, cactus-like shapes, diamonds, and cross-forms appear throughout, creating a composition that feels ancient yet strikingly modern. The zigzag “mountain range” crowning the top adds a rhythmic architectural touch, grounding the entire piece.

Originating from the Haouz region, Boujad rugs are known for their emotive color palettes, intuitive compositions, and symbolic Amazigh storytelling. Each piece is a spontaneous creation by rural women weavers — a personal record of symbols, memories, blessings, and protective motifs woven into wool.
