Meet SAUVAGE — still one of my personal favourites.

Some rugs are beautiful. And then there are the ones I simply can’t stop looking at. SAUVAGE is one of those.

It’s wild, expressive and completely unpredictable. Dusty pink and soft peach form the backdrop for a wonderfully free composition of deep red, chocolate brown, faded blue, mint green, olive and flashes of orange.

Nothing repeats in quite the same way. Lines wander across the rug, shapes appear and disappear, colours overlap and the whole composition seems to change depending on where you look. There’s something almost painterly about it — not because it tries to be art, but because it feels so instinctive and completely its own.

And then there’s the texture. The hand-knotted wool has a beautifully tactile, slightly shaggy pile that gives all those irregular lines and colours even more depth.

At 210 × 145 cm, SAUVAGE is large enough to make a real statement without taking over the entire room. In a living room, bedroom or underneath a smaller dining table, this is the kind of rug that changes the whole space around it.

Personally sourced by Joëlle for SOUK in the CITY at the criée berbère in Marrakech.
SAUVAGE was one of those pieces that immediately stood out — selected one by one for its wildly expressive composition, unusual colour palette and completely individual character.

CARE

Regularly shake out or gently vacuum using low suction and without a rotating brush.
Rotate occasionally for even wear and air outside from time to time to keep the wool fresh.
For deeper cleaning, professional rug cleaning is recommended. Avoid machine washing or soaking.
