KHATT Vintage Striped Haik | … × … cm
This is a one-of-a-kind vintage Moroccan textile. Irregular weaving, slightly uneven edges, loose threads and signs of age are part of its authentic character.
Black, ivory and a little perfectly imperfect charm.
Sometimes, the simplest pieces have the most character.
Meet KHATT, a beautiful vintage Moroccan haik with an almost hypnotic pattern of black and ivory stripes. Handwoven, wonderfully graphic and full of those little irregularities that make old textiles so special.
Personally discovered at the criée berbère in Marrakech, where traders gather to buy and sell vintage rugs and textiles, KHATT immediately stood out for its simplicity.
While many of our vintage finds are given a second life as cushions, this one was simply too lovely to cut up. So we decided to leave it exactly as it was.
After being professionally washed by local specialists in Marrakech, KHATT was photographed in the beautiful surroundings of our riad and carefully packed for its journey to Belgium.
STRIPES WITH A STORY
Its timeless black-and-ivory palette feels right at home in almost any interior. Contemporary, eclectic, rustic or full of vintage treasures.
Use it as a characterful floor textile or drape it over a piece of furniture for an effortlessly relaxed look.
The handwoven stripes are not perfectly straight. The edges have their own rhythm. And those beautiful, slightly unruly fringes? We wouldn't change a thing.
