Meet KHADRA, a gorgeous series of reversible Moroccan cushions we discovered during our October 2026 sourcing trip in Marrakech.

The name comes from the Moroccan Darija word for green. And with that fabulous emerald-green kilim on the front, we couldn't really call them anything else.

Little geometric motifs in hot pink, orange, turquoise, lime, purple, blue and white are scattered across the green woven surface.

Turn the cushion around and you get a completely different look: a thick, creamy woollen couverture with bold stripes in turquoise blue, red and green.

TWO SIDES, TWO DIFFERENT LOOKS

What makes KHADRA particularly fun is that both sides are equally beautiful.

The green kilim has a lively mix of traditional geometric motifs: small diamonds, crosses, zigzags and other playful shapes woven in bright contrasting colours.

The creamy reverse has a completely different character, with its thicker woollen texture and bold turquoise and red stripes.

And because the cushions were made from different sections of the original textiles, no two have exactly the same arrangement of patterns.

We especially love mixing the two sides together on a sofa or bench. A few patterned green cushions combined with one or two striped ones.

Same collection, different look.

KHADRA also works beautifully with colourful vintage rugs, plain linen cushions or other Moroccan textiles.

No need to match everything perfectly.

UPCYCLED IN MARRAKECH

KHADRA belongs to our collection of upcycled Moroccan cushions.

Rather than using newly produced fabrics, existing Moroccan woven textiles were given a new purpose.

The combination was selected at Mohamed's atelier and transformed into cushion covers by our trusted maâlem Ayoub in Marrakech.

Each cushion was cut from a different section of the original textiles, creating natural variations in colour, texture and pattern placement.

The result is a limited series of 27 reversible cushions, each with its own little differences.

CARE & MAINTENANCE

Professional textile cleaning recommended.

Avoid machine washing or tumble drying, as the original woven fabrics contain different fibres and traditional textile structures.

Gently vacuum using a low setting when needed. Avoid pulling on loose threads and protect from prolonged direct sunlight to help preserve the colours.

HANDMADE CHARACTER

Each KHADRA cushion is individually made from repurposed Moroccan textiles.

Variations in pattern placement, colour, weave and texture are part of its handmade character.

Some cushions feature more geometric motifs, while others show larger sections of green. The stripes on the reverse may also vary slightly.

The photographs show examples from the collection; the exact arrangement of patterns may differ from cushion to cushion.
