MAJNOUN was one of those finds.

With its deep black background, a remarkable sequence of colourful diamond motifs and countless smaller geometric details, this vintage Boucherouite is a real eye-catcher.

Pink, turquoise, green, violet, orange and touches of ivory come together in an incredibly rich composition. And then there's its unusual length, making it a striking piece for a spacious hallway, a large interior or a setting where the rug itself can take centre stage.

FROM THE CRIÉE IN MARRAKECH

MAJNOUN was personally sourced at the criée berbère, the traditional carpet market in Marrakech, where traders gather to buy and sell vintage Moroccan rugs and textiles.

After being selected, it was thoroughly washed by local specialists in Marrakech, then photographed in the Moroccan sunshine before being carefully packed for its journey to Belgium.

A beautiful vintage piece, freshly cleaned and ready for its next home.

AN IMPERFECT WORK OF ART

What makes MAJNOUN even more special is its wonderfully irregular shape.

The edges gently curve, the width varies and the colourful diamond motifs follow their own rhythm. Nothing is perfectly straight or symmetrical. And we wouldn't want it any other way.

The deep black background gives the entire composition a strong graphic character, almost like an exceptionally long piece of textile art.

MAJNOUN is one of those rugs that deserves to be seen in its entirety, with all its colours, textures and handmade imperfections.
