Meet CONFETTI, a wonderfully playful Moroccan Boucherouite rug, personally picked during our October 2026 sourcing trip in Marrakech.

An almost-black background, scattered little diamonds in bright orange, turquoise, yellow, green, pink, purple and blue, all framed by a fabulous burnt-orange border.

The colourful motifs look like someone threw handfuls of confetti across a dark rug. Hence the name. Obviously.

And then there's that wonderfully shaggy texture, with different fibres and pile heights adding even more character.

Small enough to fit beside a bed, in a cosy reading corner or in front of a favourite armchair. And equally lovely layered over a larger, neutral rug.

THE BEAUTY OF BOUCHEROUITE

Boucherouite rugs are among the most inventive textiles to come out of Morocco.

Traditionally created using leftover fabrics, recycled clothing and other available textile fibres, they are a wonderful example of Moroccan resourcefulness and creativity.

Rather than following perfectly repeated patterns, different colours, materials and textures are combined by hand, often resulting in wonderfully spontaneous designs.

And CONFETTI is a perfect example.

Those colourful little diamonds aren't all the same size, shape or texture. Some are neatly defined, others a little more rebellious.

We love that freedom in Moroccan weaving. Nothing too calculated, nothing too perfect.

Its slightly irregular shape, varying pile heights, loose textile strands and differences in colour and weave are natural characteristics of this type of textile.

Professional rug cleaning recommended.

Gently vacuum on a low setting, preferably without a rotating brush. Avoid machine washing, tumble drying and excessive moisture.

Do not pull on loose textile strands.

We recommend using a non-slip rug underlay to keep the rug comfortably in place and help protect the floor underneath.
