AMANI is one of those vintage Moroccan rugs you immediately want to touch.

Its thick, fluffy surface brings together warm reds, coral, soft peach, cream, deep blue and touches of violet and pink. The colourful geometric motifs almost blend into one another, creating a beautifully layered design.

Look a little closer and you'll discover how the different colours and textile strips have been worked together. Some areas are more defined, others wonderfully irregular.

FOUND AT THE CRIÉE IN MARRAKECH

AMANI was personally selected at the criée berbère, the traditional carpet market in Marrakech, where vintage rugs and textiles are presented, examined and traded.

Among the piles of carpets that day, this one stood out for its rich colours and particularly generous texture.

After being selected, AMANI was thoroughly cleaned locally in Marrakech, then photographed on the sunny rooftop of our riad before being carefully packed and shipped to Belgium.

Freshly cleaned, with all its original vintage character beautifully preserved.

A BEAUTIFULLY IMPERFECT VINTAGE RUG

There's something wonderfully playful about AMANI.

Its generous, shaggy pile gives the rug a soft, almost three-dimensional appearance, while the geometric pattern brings structure to the colourful mix.

The edges aren't perfectly straight, the colours vary throughout the design and the texture has its own irregular rhythm.

All part of the charm of an authentic vintage Boucherouite.
