SOUK in the CITY
Tiflet Flatweave – K7EL | 143 × 238 cm
Graphic, intricate and beautifully different from our wool-pile rugs.
K7EL is a one-of-a-kind Tiflet flatweave, handwoven in Morocco from a distinctive blend of 60% cotton, 30% wool and 10% sabra.
That mix of fibres gives the rug its characteristic flat, structured feel while allowing for an exceptional amount of detail in the weave. Against the deep black ground, rows of geometric motifs appear in muted blue, ochre, rust, turquoise and ivory — almost like a woven graphic artwork.
Look closer and the craftsmanship really comes alive: tiny crosses, diamonds, triangles, lattice-like details and changing borders, all worked by hand into one richly layered composition.
Lighter and flatter than a high-pile rug, K7EL is wonderfully versatile. Use it on the floor, under a dining table or in a living space — or hang it as a tapis tableau and let the textile itself become the artwork.
Personally sourced in Morocco. One of a kind.

ORIGIN & CRAFT
Tiflet rugs are known for their detailed flatwoven construction, graphic geometry and rich use of colour.
The combination of cotton, wool and sabra allows the weaver to create a surface that is both sturdy and finely detailed. Rather than relying on thick pile, the character of the rug comes from the weave itself: rhythm, repetition, small variations and intricate motifs built row by row.
K7EL was personally selected for SOUK in the CITY for its unusually dark background and highly detailed composition — a piece that feels rooted in Moroccan textile tradition while looking almost contemporary in its graphic precision.
CARE
Vacuum gently without a rotating brush or beater bar. Rotate and air your rug regularly.
Treat small stains locally with cold water and mild soap. Avoid harsh chemical cleaners.
For a thorough clean, we recommend a professional experienced with handmade Moroccan flatweaves.
PLEASE NOTE
One of a kind means exactly that: there is only one K7EL.
Small variations in weave, pattern, colour and shape are part of the handmade character of the rug, not flaws.
