Boujad Hanbel – TAZRITA | 105 × 209 cm
TAZRITA
Tazrita = “the embroidered one” / “the adorned one” — perfect for a kilim filled with tribal symbols and decorative rows.
A little wild, wonderfully imperfect and full of colour.
TAZRITA is a one-of-a-kind hanbel from the Boujad region, handwoven in Morocco in a beautifully faded raspberry-pink ground and filled with an extraordinary mix of geometric motifs and colourful details.
Unlike the plush pile of a typical Boujad rug, a hanbel is predominantly flatwoven. TAZRITA plays with that structure beautifully: graphic woven sections are interrupted by occasional raised, tufted bands, adding texture and an almost three-dimensional quality.
Diamonds, arrows, crosses, zigzags and abstract symbols appear throughout in black, ivory, yellow, green, blue, orange and purple. Nothing feels mechanically repeated. The composition changes as you move across the rug, giving it the spontaneous, expressive character we love in Moroccan weaving.
Its long, narrow proportions make it especially versatile — beautiful beside a bed, in a hallway or living space, but equally striking hung vertically as a tapis tableau.

CARE
Vacuum gently without a rotating brush or beater bar. Rotate and air your rug regularly.
Because of the raised woven details and handmade tassels, avoid pulling loose fibres. Treat small stains locally with cold water and mild soap.
For a thorough clean, we recommend a professional experienced with handmade Moroccan rugs and kilims.
PLEASE NOTE
One of a kind means exactly that: there is only one TAZRITA.
Variations in weave, colour, motifs, edges and dimensions are part of the handmade character of this piece, not flaws. The raised textile details and irregular tassels are intentional elements of its construction.
