SOUK in the CITY
Tiflet Flatweave – NAR | 141 × 240 cm
Warm, graphic and impossible to ignore.
NAR is a one-of-a-kind Tiflet flatweave, handwoven in Morocco from a distinctive blend of 60% cotton, 30% wool and 10% sabra.
Its deep red ground immediately sets the tone, layered with intricate geometric motifs in rust, ochre, soft blue, ivory and darker earthy shades. Row after row, the design shifts between diamonds, triangles, latticework and small repeating symbols, creating an almost endless rhythm across the rug.
The combination of cotton, wool and sabra gives Tiflet rugs their characteristic flatter, structured feel and allows an extraordinary amount of detail to be worked into the weave.
Despite its traditional craftsmanship, NAR feels surprisingly contemporary. Under a coffee table, beneath a dining table or simply as the colourful centrepiece of a room, it brings instant warmth without the volume of a high-pile rug. And with its intricate composition, it can just as easily be displayed vertically as a tapis tableau.
Personally sourced in Morocco. One of a kind.

ORIGIN & CRAFT
Tiflet rugs are known for their detailed flatwoven construction, graphic geometry and rich use of colour.
Their characteristic blend of cotton, wool and sabra creates a surface that is sturdy yet relatively lightweight, while giving the weaver the freedom to build intricate motifs directly into the textile.
Rather than relying on pile or a single dominant pattern, the beauty lies in the weave itself: changing bands, repeated symbols, subtle irregularities and colour combinations built up row by row.
NAR was personally selected for SOUK in the CITY for its rich red palette and exceptional graphic detail — a piece rooted in Moroccan textile craftsmanship that feels completely at home in a contemporary interior.
CARE
Vacuum gently without a rotating brush or beater bar. Rotate and air your rug regularly.
Treat small stains locally with cold water and mild soap. Avoid harsh chemical cleaners.
For a thorough clean, we recommend a professional experienced with handmade Moroccan flatweaves.
PLEASE NOTE
One of a kind means exactly that: there is only one NAR.
As with every handmade Moroccan rug, small variations in weave, pattern, colour, shape and dimensions are part of its character, not flaws.
