Meet AZUR — a wonderfully unusual Moroccan rug where colour, texture and two different weaving techniques come together.

Part of the same small series as some of our other Kilim Boucherouite finds, AZUR combines a tightly handwoven kilim structure with repurposed textiles worked into the weave.

Turquoise and teal dominate the composition, interrupted by irregular bands of deep blue, purple, brown, pink and little flashes of red and white. There is no perfectly repeated pattern here — the colours simply shift and evolve across the rug.

What makes AZUR especially interesting is its construction. Some sections remain relatively flat and graphic, while others reveal more texture from the recycled textile fibres. And because the rug is tightly woven and double-sided, you can turn it over for another expression of the same piece.

At 175 × 112 cm, it’s an easy size for beside a bed, in a smaller sitting area, dressing room or anywhere that could use an unexpected shot of colour and texture.

CARE

Regularly shake out or gently vacuum using low suction and without a rotating brush.

Because AZUR combines different weaving techniques and repurposed textiles, professional rug cleaning is the safest option for a deeper clean. Avoid machine washing or soaking.
