Meet MOSAÏK — a Boujad with a bit of an Ourika soul.

I found this one at Saïd’s in September 2024, one of the rug specialists I regularly source from in Morocco. And it’s exactly the kind of rug I love finding: one that doesn’t fit too neatly into a box.

MOSAÏK combines the rich wool, knots and beautiful mauve tones we associate with Boujad rugs with a much lighter, almost Ourika-like composition. Against its warm off-white wool base, dozens of colourful geometric motifs appear almost spontaneously — in pink, turquoise, orange, purple, black and soft blue.

The result is wonderfully graphic and playful, yet surprisingly easy to live with. At 250 × 170 cm, it brings plenty of colour and character without visually taking over the room.

CARE

Vacuum gently using low suction and without a rotating brush. Shake out regularly and rotate occasionally for even wear.

For deeper cleaning, professional rug cleaning is recommended. Avoid soaking or machine washing wool rugs.
