A little colour, a lot of character.

PIPPA is one of those Boucherouite rugs that looks quite understated from a distance. A beautifully mixed grey, taupe and brown background, scattered with small colourful diamonds in pink, coral, red, blue, green and cream.

But come a little closer, and there's much more going on.

The background is made up of wonderfully irregular, longer textile fibres, while the colourful diamond shapes have a shorter, denser texture. This contrast gives the rug its distinctive, almost playful surface.

FOUND IN MARRAKECH

We came across PIPPA during our October 2026 sourcing trip to Marrakech.

What caught our attention was the unusual combination of colours and textures. The rather muted background makes the brighter colours stand out without making the whole rug feel too busy.

And with its long, narrow proportions, it's a lovely piece for a hallway, alongside a kitchen island or anywhere that could use a little colour underfoot.

A PROPER BOUCHEROUITE

Traditional Boucherouite rugs are made using repurposed textiles, with different fibres, colours and textures combined into one handmade piece.

PIPPA is a particularly nice example of that mix. Some areas are tightly worked, others have a longer, slightly wild pile. The edges aren't perfectly straight, and the surface has plenty of natural irregularities.

Exactly the kind of character we love in these rugs.
