Meet AUTUMN — a wonderfully graphic Moroccan rug with just the right amount of weird.

I found this one at Saïd, one of the rug specialists I regularly source from in Morocco. Against its warm natural wool base, bold black lines meet deep burgundy and mustard yellow in a wonderfully free, almost abstract composition.

It’s one of those rugs that changes completely depending on how you use it: graphic and playful on the floor, but almost like a piece of abstract art when hung vertically.

RUG OR ART?

At 150 × 100 cm, AUTUMN is a perfect example of what we like to call a tapis-tableau — compact enough to hang on the wall, but every bit as beautiful used as a rug.

We especially love it vertically, where its irregular shapes and lines suddenly feel like a one-of-a-kind textile painting.
